City on the Move Institute
Events!

This year, the City on the Move Institute is putting on the Exhibition – “The street belongs to all of us!” – in Europe, China and Latin America, combined with experiments from the host cities. In China, the city of Shanghai is inaugurating the Chinese version of the exhibition in March at the Zendai Moma Museum; this will be followed by Beijing, Canton and Chongqing as part of a sequence of cultural and scientific events in each city. As in previous years, the Tongji University Chair will be hosting three guest speakers for a lecture cycle. In its bilingual Spanish and Portuguese version, the Exhibition will be presented in Buenos Aires in September and will then move on to Santiago de Chile and Bogota. A “City on the Move Latin America” chair will be inaugurated in the spring in Buenos Aires.
In 2008, IVM will be contributing to the publication of research by Eric Le Breton, scientific director of the IVM project on “Day-to-day mobility in the workplace”, of the summary of the last Chair seminar, and of opinion pieces on the new issues of urban mobility. Also in the pipeline are the proceedings of the “Taxis” colloquium, events, lectures and new projects.
