(Rennes Urban District Planning and Development Agency).
• Presentation of ideas by their authors on June 14 at Acigné: 42 teams got their heads down and suggested ideas to “move” the ways that mobility in the outskirts is designed and practised.

International student competition
“Headline Urban Mobilities!”


This year, City on the Move’s 3rd international competition was addressed to students of journalism. The subject for their features was: innovative schemes to meet people’s different urban mobility needs. Alternative schemes, new approaches, municipal initiatives are gradually redrawing the landscape of urban mobilities.

The International Jury met on 11 June 2004. It awarded 2 prizes:

Jury Grand Prize
the Brazilian team of Messrs Caio Cavechini, Francisco de Souza,
Ivan Paganotti, for their feature on Taxi-Mopeds in Franca.
Universidad de
São Paulo.

Jury Special Prize
the French team of Messrs Louis Olivier, Damien Fleurot, for their feature on Disability - Taming the city.
CFJ, Centre de Formation des Journalistes.


A diverse range of subjects was considered, providing a world tour of mobility through teams from Belgium, Brazil, Denmark, Ecuador, USA, France.
